Where Missing 26 Year Old Lady Was Eventually Found

Morufa Alagbala, a 26 year old woman who was declared missing for two days has been found in a well in the Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos.

The Punch reports that Morfa’s family had earlier declared her missing at Igbogbo Police Division after her whereabouts became cause of concern. Her body was however discovered two days later when plumbers came to work in the well in the house. The elder sister of the deceased said the death was shocking but revealed that Morufa was suffering from mental problem.

She said Morufa had always strayed away from home in the past but would eventually return. She said when her sister did not return on the fateful day, they thought she would eventually return.

“On Tuesday, Morufa was not found at home or in the neighbourhood. I thought it was the usual way she had been straying from home. But she would always return. The illness made her get violent and act strangely sometimes. There was a time when she became too aggressive, and struck me on the head. “We had been managing her condition until that Tuesday when she went missing.

“On Thursday, some plumbers came to fix a problem with our well, and they complained that the water stank. When they looked more closely, they found that a dead body was on the surface. That was how her corpse was discovered.”

Dr Razak Fadipe, the director of the Lagos state fire service said his men recovered the body. He said the lady mistakenly fell into the well and got trapped. “The lady accidentally fell and got trapped inside the well. It was about 120 feet deep. She was recovered dead by firefighters from the Ikorodu Fire Station.” Meanwhile, residents in a community in Ogun panicked when they could not find a baby on the day of its naming ceremony.
