BBOG convener hopes to work out the strategy with Buhari to bring finally Chibok girls back from the hands of the militants.

The #BringBackOurGirls campaigners managed to attain something very important from Muhammadu Buhari just a month since his swearing-in as the President of Nigeria, while they couldn’t get it from GEJ.

The convener of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign Obiageli Ezekwesili informed the general public via her Twitter that she has managed to get from Muhammadu Buhari a presidential confirmation of the meeting with the members of the #BringBackOurGirls group. She said that the meeting is about to take place on July 8 at 12-00.

The group has sent a written request for a meeting with Buhari right after he was sworn in as the President of Nigeria. It is worth noting that several attempts to secure a meeting with his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan ended in no result.

The past presidential administration was much criticised over its inability to cope with the continuing hostage crisis after the 219 Chibok girls were abducted at night by Boko Haram militants from the secondary school in the Borno state.

The #BringBackOurGirls campaigners expressed their hopes that the upcoming meeting with Buhari will help to work out together the strategy for countering terrorism, which will finally help to bring back Chibok girls and other kidnapped hostages and ensure their further recovery. Boko Haram has taken responsibility for the April 2014 kidnapping of over 200 school girls.

Despite their whereabouts are still unknown, Boko Haram escapees have revealed recently the state of Chibok girls and how they have become tools to the sect.
