Policemen attached to the Alakuko Division in Lagos state, have arrested five men for allegedly fighting in public. The men were said to be ‘cutting’ one another with dangerous weapon, following a minor altercation.

Residents of the area revealed that they placed a distressed call to the police to come and rescue the situation. Five of the suspects including a teenager identified as Kudus Nasiru, who is now undergoing treatment for multiple injuries as a result of the fight.

Kudus however blamed one Azeez for starting the fight. He alleged that Azeez stabbed him in the hand  after  he   refused  to buy Indian hemp for  him. “Azeez was the one who brought me from Ogun state to Lagos; but he told me to buy hemp for him which I refused. I told him that the police can arrest me. Azeez got angry and called me unprintable names.

“He was not satisfied with his insults and he went on to stab me on the right hand with a knife. He told me to do my worst”, he lamented.

Residents however said Kudus took laws into his hands as he sponsored another gang to retaliate his stabbing. It was learnt that four men allegedly  sponsored by Kudus stormed Azeez while he was sleeping.  Residents said the men are suspected cultists threatening the peace of innocent residents with their incessant fight  and therefore called the police to arrest them.
