Tragic! Man Hangs Himself After Thinking He Had Beaten His Wife To Death

A 41 year old married man in Ibadan, Oyo state has hung himself after he thought he had beaten his wife to death. The man identified as Ahmed Olanrewaju, hung himself after he thought his wife was dead following a domestic fight they had in their home yesterday.

According to Linda Ikeji’s Blog, Olanrewaju hit his wife on the head with a  sledge hammer, where she fell unconscious to the ground.  Despite several failed attempts to revive her, Olanrewaju mounted the ceiling of their home and hung himself with a rope.


However some neighbors who heard the couple’s fight, broke into their house and found the wife unconscious and the husband dead. She was rushed to the hospital where she was revived and now responding to treatment.  Police officers at Ogbere Division, Ibadan were called and Olanrewaju’s corpse was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.

However investigations are still ongoing so as to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
