It is typical of an adult to bring in a proverbial argument or retort to a younger person who he thinks should take his advice as he has known or see many things in the course of his time on earth, than the other.
But really do wisdom come with age?
As rhetorical as that may sound it is a legitimate question that we should always have at the back of our minds.

Personally i think the only wisdom older people give is "Culture". (You can curse me in the comment box later).
Lemme put some of these hints and tips from older people in retrospect.
They all say the tortoise is wise, is wisdom hiding in a shell in times of adversities? Or is that smartness?.
There is a popular one that always keeps me laughing all the time.
"The pikin wey say him mama no go sleep, him too no go sleep"
Lool seriously? Do we forget the mother spends the whole morning trying to prepare food for that child, while the child is even catching up with the sleep he missed? Lol.
I could go on and on and on and refute every proverb with a real counter but the aim of this post wasn't to point out their flaws but ours.
Next time we are caught in a wavering position we should always remember. "It is our choice, No proverb can change that"..
Sometimes mistakes are inventions.
