Reports say three staff of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), are being investigated for allegedly collecting N120m bribe from an accused person.
Daily Sun reports that the three staff were assigned to investigate a petition sent in by a staff of the Federal Ministry of Works, who alleged that some personnel in the ministry stole N1billion from the ministry’s capital vote.
Instead of investigating the case, the ICPC staff allegedly cut a deal with the accused person, and collected the sum of N120m, which they shared among themselves.
Subsequently, a no-case submission was entered in favour of the accused Federal Ministry of Works staff.
The matter came to light, when the aggrieved petitioner sent another petition to the Presidency, accusing the anti-graft agency of bias.
