The lovely and very talented recording artist Bukola Elemide popularly known as Asa sat down ahead of her concert held in Lagos over the weekend to answer questions from the press.
At the conference, Asa spoke on her hairstyle and how she gets inspiration to write her songs.
Starting music as a choir in church, she grew up listening to artists like Fela Anikulapo Kutim Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Prince, Sade Adu which inspired her choice of music and lyrics.
On her choice of hairstyle, Asa said “I have dreads because I have always loved it. That was Bob Marley’s influence on me and also to save money”At the conference, Asa spoke on her hairstyle and how she gets inspiration to write her songs.

For a long time, many have clamoured for her to do a live concert in Nigeria. Asked why it took so long to happen, the award-winning musician said she has had “a lot of international obligations” which have not afforded her the opportunity to have a live concert in the country until now.
Over the years, Asa has been on many tours around the world, performing at some of the world’s most prestigious venues. Her most recent tour, the Bed Of Stone Tour, was heralded as one of last year’s must-see tours by critics and fans
