Yesterday, a woman called Fatima Lamido asked her Twitter followers to join her in prayer for her husband’s marriage with a second wife. According to her Twitter profile, she has a Masters in International Relations, and on the family front, she is also a mother and first wife.
Islamic law allows a man to marry up to four wives, provided he can love them equally. Polygamy is also permitted in most Nigerian customary/traditional marriages.
