Police
officials attached to the “B” Division Police Station, Warri, Delta
State have arrested two brothers identified as, Johnson Onoriode
Efenaghor and Emmanuel Efenaghor, for allegedly engaging in
homosexuality.
The suspects were reportedly arrested following a
complaint by one Kelvin Williams who claimed that they sexually
molested, abused and defiled him.
It was
gathered that the suspects allegedly gave in to sodomy while in Lagos
State. Consequently, Johnson, is the alleged principal actor who
committed the act by initiating the victim into homosexuality, whereas,
his brother, Emmanuel, was reportedly arrested as an accomplice.
Williams
reported the incident to the police because of the way the suspects
threatened his life if he disclosed the encounter to anyone.
He narrated the ordeal during an interrogative session at the police station following.
According
to him, the encounter started sometime in July 2015 when Johnson
approached him on his way to visit his father’s house at Odion Road,
Warri, and told him that he was handsome and would like both of them to
become friends.
The victim further disclosed how he passed a
night at their place upon their insistence, without knowing they had
ulterior motives.
Williams further said he decided to tell the
police because he knew that homosexuality is an offence, adding that his
grandfather is a pastor and he lives with him.
“Even when I told
him that I filed for somebody’s arrest, my grandfather didn’t believe
me. My grandfather is a pastor and I didn’t grow up with street life,”
Williams stressed.
According to Vanguard, Johnson who is
currently in detention in the police cell, admitted to have made attempt
to have carnal knowledge of Williams but could not gain access due to
plea by the victim to have the real fun at another rescheduled date.
He
told the police that he was introduced into the act by an unidentified
Jehovah Witness man who came to preach to him in Lagos State three years
ago.
Johnson, however, pleaded for mercy from constituted authority, promising not to indulge in the act again.
Divisional
Police Officer (DPO), “B” Division, Warri, Anietie Eyoh, is yet to
confirm the arrest although a reliable source from the station confirmed
the arrest and detention of the suspects, noting that they would soon
be charged to court.
