President Buhari will address Nigeria tomorrow.

President Muhammadu Buhari will make a nationwide 55th independence anniversary broadcast on Thursday, October 1, 2015.

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the president, Femi Adesina, disclosed that the broadcast will take place at 7am.

A 39-year-old Kenyan man, Bernard Mwenga Wilson, has been handed the death penalty by a court in that country after he was found guilty of murdering his wife, Caroline Mbeta, and mother of his three children over a disagreement on the use of her mobile phone, reports Nairobi News.

The court heard how Wilson, a perpetual wife beater, had gone to the salon where the wife worked and battered her, before going ahead to stab her 23 times and drinking her blood as she bled to death.

A 17-year-old student in Russia died after attempting to take a selfie on a 9th floor rooftop.

According to Mirror, the teenager climbed to the top of a building in Vologda, Russia, with a friend one evening last week with the intention of taking a photo of himself dangling off the tall building.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki received a vote of confidence from 84 Senators at the National Assembly on Tuesday, after the house resumed from its 6 weeks recess. The Senate passed the vote of confidence on Saraki in a rowdy session.

48 Senators from the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party and 35 from the majority, All Progressives Congress gave the vote of confidence to Saraki.

A 33-year-old woman, Olawunmi, was arrested and remanded in prison custody a week to her wedding for slapping her neigbour, Anthony.

Following his promise to release the list of appointed ministers before September 30th,it is certain that the list of ministers is ready, and President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the prized document should be submitted immediately to the Senate, which resumes from its six-week break, today.

Vanguard reports that, the list was said to contain the names of people like former Rivers State Governor, Mr Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi; a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu; former Army Chief, Lt-Gen. Abdurrahman Dambazzau, and activist lawyer, Femi Falana, among others.
