A special committee set up by Mohammed Abubakar, the governor of Bauchi state, has recovered 51 vehicles from officials of the immediate past government. Premium Times reports that Ahmed Baba, the chairman of the committee, announced this while briefing journalists on June 24, Wednesday.
He restated the commitment of the committee to recover all state’s properties in the hands of former officials of the previous government. Mr Baba called on individuals concerned to hasten the return of all properties belonging to the state, stressing that the committee would not spare anyone who had government’s property.
The chairman noted in his speech that the aim of the committee was not to witch-hunt anyone but to ensure that all government’s properties taken without due process, were returned. Mr Baba assured the residents of the state that the committee would keep on working until all looted properties were recovered.
