The body of kidnapped former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Prof. Albert Ilemobade has been found.
According to sahara reporters, his body was found this morning in his own compound ilaje street, Ijapo Estate in Akure, the state capital at an abandoned store outside the main building where cables are been kept.
The police have so far arrested two persons in connection with the killing, and his gate man that was earlier reported to have been kidnapped with him is now a major suspect. A source said that it was later discovered that the gate man and another accomplice decided to kill the elderly man just to steal his new car.
A close source to the family also added that Prof. Ilemobade might have been killed because he just bought a new vehicle. “Papa bought a vehicle just of recent and since then we have gotten information that they want to steal that vehicle from him.
“I can’t imagine that our gateman was even the brain behind this sad event. Papa like this gateman to the extent that he takes him as his son. Now he (gateman) has been arrested and currently with the Police”, the source added.
It was gathered that the vehicle was recovered from Ogun state by security officials.
Ilemobade who was FUTA’s VC from 1987 t0 1995 had been declared missing about a week ago.
