The surfers have broken the world record for the most people simultaneously riding a surfboard at Huntington Beach in California, USA.

Scroll down to see really impressive photos. Don’t forget about the video at the end of the article! Sixty-six people, aged between 15 and 79, rode a super-large surfboard for more than 10 seconds to break the record for the most people riding a surfboard. Among the record-breakers were professional and local surfers, and even a local congressman. At least 5,000 people are reported to have watched the record attempt from the beach.

Besides smashing the previous official record set in 2009 by a group of 47 Australian surfers, the group also set one more record for the biggest surfboard along the way. It measures 12.83 m long, 3.37 m wide and 0.41m thick, its weight is about 590kg. Due to his enormous parameters it had to be lifted into the sea with a forklift truck.
